Network – Communication – Medium. All of these are keywords and many others are essential for networks. Configuring your own computers and exchanging data is a great way to start networking.
Ethernet Network (Wired Ethernet Connection)
First, there are basic requirements that allow us to achieve our goal: hardware and software.
Hardware : Make sure that at least two computers are installed with the network cards, and then a jumper cable is ready. Note: Using any other type of cable may cause a connection failure.
Software : Verify that the computers are running the correct operating system and that the network card drivers are installed correctly.
With these locations, simply connect the two ends of the jumper cable to your computer's network cards and wait for a while until you get an IP address and ready to travel. By default, computers receive APIPA addresses (automatic private IP address). This is due to the fact that no DHCP server was found, so they automatically associate themselves with private addresses.
Now you can enjoy ping messages between our computers and our test connection: now we have our first Peer-to-peer network configuration.
Voila is a basic way of networking between computers. Using the right tools, such as a jumper cable, is essential for communication. Yes, computers can talk to each other and allow us to share their data and resources.
Wi-Fi has been turned off for a long time and for most home or corporate users . Unlike wired networks, the wireless network does not require wiring.
In order to communicate with two computers via Wi-Fi, they need to install wireless cards. There are several card manufacturers, such as Linksys, Netgear, D-Link. Although 98% of mobile computers are wireless, some desktops or towers require wireless cards.
The wireless network requires much more knowledge and configuration because it cannot be connected or played, as the wires have to be slightly expanded.
Although this is a peer-to-peer connection, make sure that:
- Both wireless adapters are set to ad-hoc mode rather than infrastructure. Infrastructure mode is a connection where an access point is present.
- Wireless cards must use the same SSID (Service Set Identifier) that is case sensitive.
- The encryption type must be the same. So, for example, if WEP / WPA2 …, it should be the same as the network key.
We recommend disabling any security when you first connect and later configure the connection when the connection is established and running. While this is not normal, it helps troubleshoot when a connection occurs during installation.
APIPA: Automatic private IP addresses start with 169,254, and the domain maintained by IANA is between 169,254.0.0 and 169,254,255,255.
DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration and allows computers to dynamically obtain an IP address from a DHCP server configured for this purpose.
PING is used to test the connection between Packet Internet Groper, two nodes in the network.
Only if there is no answer to the ping message does not mean that there is no connection. Verify that the firewall allows incoming echo requests.
